The AYCAN Green Africa Initiative is a community-based environmental action programme focused on practical activities that contribute to healthier and more sustainable communities. The initiative will mobilize young people to participate in environmental restoration, conservation and awareness activities.Activities may include tree planting and care, environmental clean-ups, restoration activities, waste awareness, biodiversity activities and community environmental campaigns.Importantly, AYCAN's approach will go beyond simply counting activities. For example, tree-planting activities can include follow-up monitoring to understand whether trees survive and how communities care for them.
